This course will introduce you to the idea of duty of care, explore how duty of care impacts your professional life, what to do in a duty of care situation, where to get help or advice, and provide some real-world duty of care examples.
All health and social care providers, as well as organisations that offer health and care services, are required to prioritise the needs of their clients under a duty of care. Working in the health and social care sector involves interacting with a wide range of individuals who have different needs, dependencies, backgrounds, and preferences. When working, you have a responsibility to take care of everyone with whom you come into contact. In order to keep them safe from harm, abuse, and injury, you must exercise a reasonable level of care.
