Over 300,000 people contract a health care-associated infection every year. The patient, the staff, and the institution where it takes place are all significantly impacted by this. Patients will have better health and more independence if infection prevention and control are effective. The goal of infection prevention and control measures is to protect those who may be at risk of contracting an infection.
The first part of this course will define infection prevention and control and discuss the effects of both effective and ineffective infection control. The legislation governing infection control, various types of microorganisms, the transmission of bacteria, the chain of infection, and much more are then covered in detail.
