One of the most frequent reasons for workplace injuries is improper manual handling. This course provides an awareness of the risks that poor manual handling poses, safe handling methods, workable solutions to manual handling problems, and how to use mechanical aids.
The Manual Handling Operations Regulations were introduced to address issues with manual handling, and set our responsibilities of both employers and employees. As a general requirement these regulations state that employees must be trained in the proper manual handling of loads, including the use of any equipment their employer may provide.
This course covers the laws and regulations that apply to manual handling tasks as well as determining what falls under the category of manual handling. The course goes on to cover safe handling techniques, how to develop good habits in relation to manual handling, and introduces some practical solutions and the use of mechanical aids.
Please be aware that this is only an awareness course; if your duties involve manual handling, you will also need additional practical training. Contact us to make arrangements for this.
