What’s covered

Creating a culture of health, safety and wellbeing in the workplace increases staff morale and ensures a high level of retention. This course is aimed at supervisors and managers who are responsible for the health and wellbeing of their employees.

This course explains the main components, practices, and activities involved in effective occupational health and safety management at work. The course shows the benefits that a professional Occupational Health and Safety Management process provides for both individuals and organisations.

It will examine workplace health models, including the fundamental standards of the model developed by the World Health Organisation. You’ll learn the value of conducting a health needs assessment and how doing so results in the creation of a health management strategy. The course will examine hazards, risks, controls, “Safe Systems of Work,” and the function of health risk assessments on a more practical level.

The course will then discuss how to encourage healthy lifestyles and good mental health in the workplace. You’ll learn how to handle both authorised and unauthorised absences from work, develop a formal attendance policy, oversee the return-to-work procedure, and effectively deal with absenteeism.
