This course is aimed at anyone working in the care sector and should act as an introduction to health and safety in their place of work. Numerous organisations, including local governments, the NHS, as well as those in the private and non-profit sectors, own and operate care homes. Care homes are distinct from other workplaces because they serve as both a place of employment and a residence for the people who live there.
Care homes should be locations where residents’ freedom and dignity are respected, and where health and safety are properly managed. This course covers developing work systems, management and employee responsibilities, and the laws that apply to nursing homes. Additionally, it covers emergency situations as well as some common hazards you might run into.
