What’s covered
The term “dementia” is used to describe the symptoms that appear when specific diseases and conditions affect the brain. These symptoms may inlucde persistent, progressive problem with cognition, or failure of brain functions which can have an impact on people at various stages of life.
This course provides an overview of the most typical dementia types and symptoms whilst also exploring the various ways dementia can impact the brain. It also discusses methods for dealing with challenging behaviour and clients who have dementia. Anyone who works with or around people who may be suffering from dementia should take the course.
