Repeat Fit Testing

Repeat fit testing forms an integral part of any effective RPE program in helping to ensure that your operatives are wearing masks that provide a suitable fit AND that they know how to fit them correctly.

INDG 479 fit testing guidance requires employers to have a system in place to review when a repeat fit test is required. In support of this, Fit2Fit recommends that a suitable interval for repeat fit testing is 2 years.

A repeat fit fest will also be required if the make, model or size of face piece changes, or if the wearer:
a) loses or gains weight;
b) undergoes any substantial dental work;
c) develops any facial changes (scars, moles, etc) around the face seal area.

Please feel free to contact us by phone or email if you would like to discuss this guidance or the implications for you and your workers in more detail.
