The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 applies to all workplaces and requires employers to provide all employees with sufficient training in fire awareness.
This fire safety awareness course is designed to help employees and employers to recognise and mitigate the risk that fire poses at work. Candidates who complete this course will have a basic understanding of fire awareness, including what to do in the event of a fire, how to prevent one from occurring, and a basic introduction to the extinguishing procedure.
What you’ll learn
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Define the common causes of fire and understand how to reduce their risks
- Understand the chemistry of fire and its ability to spread through four specified methods
- Recognise the dangers of smoke
- Identify the fire safety features available and understand their role in fire prevention,
- management, and evacuation.
- Understand the risks to consider if you discover a fire
- Recognise the different types of Fire Extinguishers and when to use them
